The South-South Zonal Coordinator of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Pastor Reuben Wilson, has charged members of the group to intensify grassroots mobilisation and secure strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across polling units, wards and Local Government Areas in Bayelsa State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Wilson gave the charge in Yenagoa during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement, where he also called on Bayelsans to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He described the movement as one of the influential support organisations backing the President, saying its grassroots structure was designed to take the administration’s message and documented achievements directly to communities across the country.
The coordinator also urged members to appreciate the founder and Grand Patron of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for establishing the platform and for what he described as his contributions to the development of the Ijaw nation.
“I want all of us to appreciate one man, a man who has the Ijaws at heart, a man who created this avenue for us to gather here, a man who loves development, a man who has done so much — High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo,” Wilson said.
According to him, speakers at the meeting highlighted the movement’s grassroots reach, while its Grand Patron’s Niger Delta background, among other factors, made the organisation an important platform for mobilising support for Tinubu in the region.
Wilson cited projects executed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as part of the developments he said had benefited communities in Bayelsa State under the Tinubu administration.
“You will agree with me that if you go down to our fishing settlements, you will see light everywhere through the NDDC. Light is everywhere and light is life, done by the NDDC supported by Mr. President,” he said.
He also recalled Tinubu’s visit to Bayelsa to commission projects, saying the developments should encourage residents to support the President.
“Some months ago, Mr. President was here to commission various projects. So Bayelsa, we don’t have any reason not to support Mr. President,” Wilson stated.
Explaining the mandate of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement, he said members were expected to engage voters at the grassroots, including communities, polling units and wards, to explain what the group considers the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
“Why P-BAT was formed is to go to the communities, from door to door, units and wards, telling the people about the good works of Mr. President and telling them the reasons why they must vote for Mr. President,” he said.
Wilson urged members to intensify their mobilisation efforts, stressing that the group’s objective was to build support for Tinubu at the grassroots.
“The President has done a lot, the NDDC has done a lot, and our God-fearing governor has done a lot. So let’s give Mr. President 100 per cent votes,” he added.
