The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has delivered his polling unit in Osogbo to the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
At Ward 7, Unit 3, Ibokun Road 2, Osogbo, where Basiru and his wife, Abibat, voted, Oyebamiji secured 177 votes to defeat the Accord Party candidate and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who polled 60 votes.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate, Najeem Salaam, recorded three votes, while the candidates of the Action Alliance, Young Progressives Party and Peoples Redemption Party secured one vote each.
Basiru and his wife had earlier participated in the voting process at the polling unit before the results were collated and announced.
Speaking after casting his ballot, the APC chieftain commended security personnel for maintaining peace and order at polling centres across the state.
He also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for what he described as the timely deployment of election officials and sensitive materials for the exercise.
